The Property Shop’s Tradies Night was success beyond organisers expectations raising in excess of $20,000.
The annual fundraiser this year went towards The Mudgee Rescue Squad’s new trunk campaign and new window shutters for the Mudgee Hospital Maternity Ward.
The $21,600 raised will be split 50-50 between the two causes.
Donated items for the charity auction included signed international and NSW cricket items and NSW Swifts netball items and more.
Property Shop director Andrew Palmer said that the night went beyond what he had hoped.
“It’s a phenomenal result. It far exceeded our expectations, every item donated and auctioned obtained far more than the face value of the goods,” he said.
“We had very generous support from all the tradespeople, in particular PIL Constructions, they bought the bulk of the items but they were also pushed along by others.
We’d like to thank the businesses and individuals that donated the items and of course everyone that attended for their overwhelming generosity.”
The Trades Night is also when the Property Shop thanks the local trades people who carry out work for the real estate agent such as maintenance, repairs and construction throughout the year.
Thursday was the fifth year the event has been held.
