WHAT DOES THE MUDGEE RESCUE SQUAD DO?

A totally volunteer organisation with no paid staff, the Mudgee Rescue Squad are the Primary response rescue unit for Mudgee and District, and accredited by the NSW State Rescue Board to conduct general land and vertical rescue operations.

Operating in Mudgee NSW Australia, we attend all types of rescue situations under the direction of the NSW Police Force, and assist other services like Fire and Rescue NSW, Ambulance Service, Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service.


These include:

Vehicular & Aircraft accidents,
Industrial & Domestic accidents,
Farm accidents, Animal rescues,
Inland Search and Rescue for missing persons,
Body recovery from waterways,
Crime scenes (lighting, searching etc) & Road Control at road accidents for the Police,
Freeing trapped persons/limbs from machinery & fences,
Removing persons off roofs of houses and sheds,
even removing foreign objects from fingers; eg. bearing cases and wedding rings.Since VRA Members are trained in Traffic Control, we assist in many community events by providing Road Control for club events organised by the Mudgee Triathlon Club, Mudgee Lions Club, Mudgee Rotary Club, as well as street carnivals and the Anzac March.

We are a community based, NOT FOR PROFIT, non government organisation affiliated with the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association Inc. (VRA).

Our members. male and female, come from all walks of life and each member brings special skills and attributes with them that enhances service delivery to our community.
